Though the card depicts a youth in danger of falling off a cliff, this card isn't about calamity. The fool is a character who doesn't care about the rules of the world, he follows his own path no matter how silly it seems to others. Society will view the Fool as being irresponsible, taking "crazy" risks. But the fool pursues his heart's desire, and finds joy.

The Fool signifies a new future, a sudden change of direction, entering a new phase, heading into the unknown. It could mean that the "silly" experiment that seemed like a ridiculous diversion is actually going to grow legs and become a successful venture. It is not a card that warns the questioner to avoid foolish actions, on the contrary it is a card that signals that the questioner should follow their dreams, and seek joy.
